BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Orion Health, a leading population health management company, today announced that Greenville Health System (GHS), one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare organizations in the Southeast, has selected its Healthier Populations Solutions, a comprehensive set of interoperability and care coordination tools that support healthcare organizations’ population health initiatives. GHS is deploying several components of the Healthier Populations Solutions, including the Rhapsody® Integration Engine, HIE module with longitudinal medical record, Clinical Portal, Patient Portal and Clinical Referrals. Together, these technologies will enable Greenville to better serve its patients in an accountable care organization (ACO) environment, while also supporting the organization’s Meaningful Use goals.
“As we prepare to start taking on more risk in an ACO model of care, we need an integration technology partner that is able to aggregate data from disparate data sources, including our Epic EMR system, and a vendor that can blend the longitudinal medical record into the clinician’s workflow to support our population health management goals,” said Dr. Mark Wess, Chief Medical Information Officer, Greenville Health System. “Orion Health is best suited to address both of these needs. Orion’s ability to create a truly comprehensive view of our patient population will help us improve efficiencies and continue to provide the best care possible for our patients.”
Orion Health’s Healthier Populations Solutions support clinically integrated networks and ACOs by aggregating both claims and clinical data from various care settings and systems throughout the community and making that information readily available via a longitudinal patient record. With this longitudinal record, providers are able to make better-informed decisions at the point of care. The offering enables easy user adoption with change management services that address the ‘psychology’ of the implementation.
“GHS is an expansive organization that needs innovative technological solutions to help manage the health of its patient population across the continuum of care. Orion Health’s sophisticated infrastructure will provide the foundation for GHS’ population health management initiatives at both the macro level and down to the individual patient level,” said Suzanne Cogan, Vice President, Orion Health. “We are excited to partner with GHS and provide them with the tools that they need to successfully transition to an ACO model of care while ensuring superior patient care and outcomes, and reduced costs.”
