NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Panjiva, the authoritative information source for global trade, today announced it has added Mexican trade data to the Panjiva platform. Through a strategic partnership with JML International, a leading Mexico Customs Statistics provider, Panjiva now provides unprecedented insights into the global trade landscape, with details on all shipments to and from Mexico aboard all types of transport. This new data set adds insights on more than 500,000 new suppliers and 200,000 new buyers, significantly enhancing the overall Panjiva platform.
As souring costs continue to skyrocket in China, a recent study done by Panjiva showed that almost three quarters (74 percent) of all buyers are looking for suppliers outside of China. In response to rising costs in China, Mexico is an alternative that is getting a lot of attention from buyers. Panjiva is the first and only company that is making Mexican trade data, including both imports and exports, searchable and accessible, and as a result, is helping Panjiva users identify suppliers and customers in a leading market.
"Mexico is becoming an important sourcing destination, yet before now, there has been little visibility into what's going in and out of the country," said Josh Green, CEO of Panjiva. "Our customers asked for more insight into the Mexican landscape, which has historically been very underrepresented, and we worked extremely hard to find the richest and most detailed data set ever offered to our users."
The information, which includes all forms of transport (truck, air, sea, pipeline, etc.) on more than 131,000 Mexican companies and close to one million trading partners, will be integrated directly into the existing Panjiva platform. The data also shows the companies, countries and HTS codes associated with each trade for easy search functionality – the cleanest and richest data set Panjiva has ever incorporated into the system. Additionally, the data enhances the platform by providing:
- More than 70 different types of data, including port location, transport type, country of purchase, raw consignee name and many more
- More detailed insights than ever before, with many records showing both (buyer and supplier) side of the transaction
- Shipments to and from not only the U.S., but also every country around the world
- Shipment records for every type of transport: truck, rail, sea and air
"Panjiva is doing amazing work and we're pleased to be partnering with a like-minded organization to help build transparency and visibility into the vibrant Mexican sourcing economy," said Julia Lasky, President at JML International. "We hope the data we provide fills a major gap in the information now available to sourcing professionals and opens doors to many new opportunities for businesses worldwide."
