SAN RAFAEL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the fourth consecutive year, Central Payment (www.cpay.com) and SpotOn (www.spoton.com) will be a primary sponsor of GLIDE’S annual holiday Grocery Bag Giveaway on December 17. This year’s $60,000 contribution was announced today by Zach and Matt Hyman, co-founders and co-managing directors of both companies.
In the four years that the companies have participated in the annual event, they have provided more than $200,000 in funding. Employees from both companies also work on a regular basis in the San Francisco-based organization’s kitchen, which serves more than 2400 meals per day to the city’s poor, homeless and hungry.
“We are very grateful to SpotOn and Central Payment for their continued dedication over the years in helping GLIDE help those in need,” said GLIDE’s Minister of Liberation Reverend Cecil Williams. “Their monetary support and volunteer hours are so valuable in helping us bring food to the hungry and nourish souls during the holidays. The continued commitment year after year to help the GLIDE community shows the true meaning of the holidays.”
On December 17, the Hymans will be joined by up to 80 colleagues who will help distribute 5,000 grocery bags to the GLIDE community.
“The GLIDE contribution is a reflection of our corporate commitment to building successful and sustainable programs for our employees, sales representatives and the communities in which we operate,” said Zach Hyman. The companies are also major supporters of the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and many other organizations that benefit the local community.
The companies also have a matching contribution program which allow them to increase support for nonprofit organizations by making commensurate donations to match those donated by employees or sales representatives.
Having recently celebrated its landmark fiftieth anniversary of daily service, GLIDE works to create a radically inclusive, just and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break the cycles of poverty and marginalization. Located in San Francisco's culturally rich Tenderloin neighborhood, GLIDE serves a diverse cross-section of homeless, low-income and disenfranchised populations, providing an array of programs including free meals, primary and mental health care, housing assistance, domestic violence counseling and abatement, substance abuse recovery, licensed childcare, afterschool and summer programs for youth, and a Family Resource Center. GLIDE has founded and sustained visionary programming, and achieved tangible results for tens of thousands of individuals and families on the margins, all once thought to be beyond the possible.
