WASHINGTON--()--Clients of kglobal, one of the nation’s most innovative and dynamic communications firms, have yet another new creative resource to call upon as public relations and issues management veteran Gene Grabowski joins the team as Partner.

Grabowski, a former journalist and longtime counselor to global companies, has earned the PR News Crisis Manager of the Year Award for his work on various campaigns, including the litigation struggle of the Kuwaiti detainees in Guantanamo, the global lead-paint-in-toys recall, and the North American recall of pet foods.

kglobal is a full-service Washington, DC-based agency with extensive experience in disciplines including public affairs, marketing, branding, web design and web development. Past and current clients include the United States Navy, General Motors, Crane Paper Co., H.K. Anderson, country of Georgia, Central Bank of Lebanon and Association of Public Land Grant Universities.

Grabowski’s responsibilities will include business development, client service, counseling the firm’s key clients and directing major campaigns.

“We are experiencing a great period of growth that will continue through 2015 and beyond, as our roster of clients and their need for creative solutions continue to expand,” said kglobal President and CEO Mark Green. “Gene’s experience, dedication to client service and stellar reputation for creating and driving effective campaigns for corporations, trade associations and other institutions make him an ideal addition to our team of professionals.”

Prior to joining kglobal, Grabowski served as Executive Vice President at LEVICK, where he helped build that firm into an integrated communications agency over 11 years.

Grabowski has served as the Vice President of Communications and Marketing for The Grocery Manufacturers of America – the world's largest food trade group representing brand-name food, beverage, and consumer-product companies. In addition to developing and implementing GMA's news media outreach programs, he was the organization's chief communications strategist and spokesperson and directed the organization’s outreach to national and global regulators.

Before joining GMA, Grabowski served as a Director in Burson-Marsteller’s Washington office, where he developed and managed national advocacy and media relations campaigns for leading U.S. corporations. At Burson-Marsteller, he also managed strategic communications campaigns in many countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Tanzania and Uganda.

For more than 12 years, Grabowski worked as a journalist, primarily in Washington, D.C. He reported on congressional issues for The Associated Press, specializing in labor and manufacturing issues, and served as White House Reporter for The Washington Times, where he covered the U.S.-Soviet arms treaty summits, the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Robert Bork, national election campaigns, and the federal budget. Grabowski has also served as Director of Media Relations for the American Council of Life Insurers and as Manager of Press Information at C-SPAN.

Grabowski serves on the board of International Social Service USA, an organization dedicated to helping children, families and adults whose lives have been disrupted by migration and international crises. He also mentors high school students as part of Washington DC’s College Bound program.
