RENTON, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Parallels, the cloud management platform for service providers, today announced a new partnership with Telecom Italia Digital Solutions (TIDS), a subsidiary of international ICT provider Telecom Italia. Parallels Automation platform has been chosen by TIDS to expand its cloud services offering for SMBs to new markets.
Launching from scratch a Cloud Automation Platform is a process that is hard to deal with and the cloud market for SMEs is a relatively new opportunity for telcos and IT Distributors. TIDS has already a proven successful go-to-market experience with Telecom Italia’s Nuvola Store cloud marketplace and has already signed a vast portfolio of international agreements with ISVs.
TIDS is using Parallels Automation and APS, the software packaging standard founded by Parallels, to quickly and easily offer SMB customers tailored bundles of up to 12 cloud services, including Microsoft Office 365 and Symantec security, through local wholly-owned channels and 3rd-party partners.
The Parallels Automation platform gives TIDS the flexibility to offer cloud services directly to its customers and to resell them through 3rd-party channels such as ISPs and web hosting companies in its domestic and international markets. So, the provider can build multiple cloud services revenue streams simultaneously. Just as it does in the Italian market, TIDS is driving demand for its portfolio elsewhere with innovative go-to-market models such as monthly vouchers that can be redeemed by SMB customers against services up to a certain value.
“Telecom Italia Digital Solutions wants to deliver a strong proposition for selling cloud services in markets where local providers do not have the expertise or resources to set up their own cloud businesses. Parallels Automation allows us to leverage this opportunity for our own subsidiaries and 3rd-party partners. The platform enables them to provide cloud services to their SMB customers quickly, easily and at minimum cost,” said Riccardo Jelmini, Cloud and OTT Services Executive Director, Telecom Italia Digital Solutions. “We really value the integrated support for multiple languages, the ability to create and tailor service offerings to local market requirements, and the native functionality to sell services on a multi-tier basis through our local subsidiaries and partners. These capabilities make Parallels Automation the perfect platform for growing our cloud services business internationally.”
“For leading international telcos like Telecom Italia, the next logical step after launching cloud services in their domestic markets is to expand the offering internationally. Parallels is uniquely well positioned to support international expansion by focusing service provision through a single Parallels Automation platform that enables multi-tier selling through local subsidiaries and partners. In addition to built-in support for multiple languages, the availability of the latest cloud services from Microsoft and other leading technology providers is a key success factor. These services can be combined within customized service bundles that are easy and fast for partners to deploy. Together, all these elements help ensure maximum uptake in local markets,” said Mauro Meanti, SVP and GM Service Provider, Parallels. “We are very proud to be supporting Telecom Italia Digital Solutions as it expands the footprint of its cloud services business internationally.”
