SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SKULLY (www.skullysystems.com) is in the home stretch of its record-breaking Indiegogo campaign for the AR-1, the world’s first augmented reality motorcycle helmet. The campaign, which began on August 11th, 2014, will come to an end on October 9th, 2014, giving potential customers just hours to be among the first to own a SKULLY helmet. The preorder campaign was a success right out of the gate as the company reached its $250,000 goal in just eight minutes. In 45 hours, sales surpassed $1 million, making it the fastest Indiegogo campaign to reach the $1 million-dollar milestone. The campaign was then extended in September due to global demand, and sales have since surpassed $2.2 million, resulting in the SKULLY campaign being the most successful wearable campaign in Indiegogo history.
“We continue to be blown away by the outpouring of interest and support for the SKULLY AR-1,” said Marcus Weller, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of SKULLY. “The campaign has been a tremendous success and has been a true testament to the desire for innovation in safety technology. We look forward to delivering the AR-1 to the SKULLY Nation next year.”
More than 1,700 AR-1 helmets have been sold over the course of the campaign, with SKULLY offering special pricing and financing options to early adopters. As part of the Indiegogo campaign, the AR-1 is being sold for $1399. A deposit program was also announced, allowing consumers to put down a $499 deposit followed by a second payment of $949 to be paid when the helmet ships in 2015. The retail price of the SKULLY AR-1 is $1499. To reserve your SKULLY AR-1 helmet today, visit www.skullysystems.com.
