VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) announced today that Shahrzad Rafati has been appointed to the VEC’s board of directors. The nine member team features strong representation from key Vancouver economic sectors including Digital Entertainment & Interactive, Technology, Green Economy as well as Finance and Education.
Recognized by Fast Company as one of the 100 Most Creative People in Business, Shahrzad Rafati is the Founder and CEO of BroadbandTV Corp, a leading media and technology company that operates one of the world’s largest entertainment networks online.

In 2013, Ms. Rafati was responsible for closing a strategic partnership and investment with RTL Group, Europe's largest media conglomerate, and a unit of Bertelsmann, one of the world’s largest media companies. She is also the co-founder of the world’s first Chopra Yoga in partnership with Dr. Deepak Chopra.
