NEW YORK--()--iHeartMedia today announced that its iHeartRadio streaming music and digital radio service is now available for Android Wear™. Beginning Oct. 15, listeners who have both an Android wearable and iHeartRadio installed on their Android smartphone will seamlessly be able to control their iHeartRadio listening experience right from their wrist.

Users who sync an Android Wear smartwatch, such as the Samsung Gear Live, Moto 360 and LG G Watch, with a compatible Android phone will be able to access the iHeartRadio app through voice activation, making it easier to find and listen to their favorite music while on-the-go. Features available through the Android Wear integration include:

  • Voice Search – Listen to more than 1,900 live radio stations or create your own based on a library of more than 450,000 artists by simply saying "Z100" or "Rihanna"
  • Favorites – Quick access to view and play saved stations or shows
  • For You - Browse tailored recommendations based on specific music preferences and listening habits
  • Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down - Provide on the spot feedback to tailor future music recommendations, plus enjoy the ability to scan live stations across the country

“iHeartRadio has enjoyed a great relationship with Google over the years, and as a result, we are typically among the first to integrate with their newest products,” said Darren Davis, President of iHeartRadio & iHeartMedia Networks. “Wearables in general are a focus for us as they are becoming more common in the marketplace and Android Wear makes it easy for our listeners to access their favorite music from the most familiar wearable, the watch.”

iHeartRadio’s Android Wear integration continues the digital service’s focus on consumer access and convenience. So far this year, iHeartRadio has announced integrations with Amazon’s Fire Phone, Amazon’s Fire TV, Android Auto, Google’s Chromecast, Apple’s CarPlay, Samsung’s Gear 2 Smartwatch, Qualcomm’s AllPlay and new auto partnerships with Subaru, AT&T Drive, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia and Volvo. In addition, the company launched the first-ever nationally televised iHeartRadio Music Awards show in May and just wrapped up its fourth iHeartRadio Music Festival. In June, iHeartRadio announced it had surpassed 50 million registered users, faster than any other digital music service and even faster than Twitter and Facebook.

In all, iHeartRadio is available on more than 35 device platforms across web, mobile phones, tablets, automotive, smart TVs, gaming consoles and more. iHeartRadio is free for listeners to use, with no capped hours or monthly subscription fees.

iHeartRadio delivers everything listeners want in an all-in-one platform: Instant access to thousands of radio stations from across the country, user-created Custom Stations inspired by a favorite artist or song, thousands of curated digital stations, and the new Shows & Personalities feature giving users access to the best on-demand news, talk and entertainment content available today.
