NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Express Global Business Travel (“GBT”) is pleased to share that it ranked first among corporate travel providers in the recently announced 2014 Corporate Travel 100 (“CT100”), an annual listing compiled by Business Travel News which looks at companies with the largest volume of air bookings. Spanning a variety of industries, 37 GBT clients were named to the CT100 list with three listed in the top ten, more than any other travel management company.
“We are honored to be recognized as the top travel management company for this year’s Corporate Travel 100 listing and want to thank our customers, a vital asset to our success, for their continued partnership,” said Kevin Carey, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Client Group, American Express Global Business Travel. “This has been a transformative year for GBT, following the close of our joint venture and $900 million capital infusion. We look forward to furthering our technology investments to provide greater digital and premium servicing capabilities and enhanced data-driven insights for our customers worldwide.”
Companies were selected for the CT100 list based on 2013 air tickets purchased for domestic or international business travel at all U.S. points of sale. Most listed organizations provided at least some information to Business Travel News for use in their specific listings. Respondent organizations completed an online questionnaire and some provided additional information in interviews. For organizations that did not participate, Business Travel News used industry sources, published reports and other intelligence.
