SPOKANE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Real estate technology provider SharperLending LLC plans to release a free app to the App store called Safe Meeting. Its goal is to protect real estate professionals during meetings with potential clients that may have nefarious intentions.
Safe Meeting acts as a crime deterrent whenever a realtor shows a home to a potential client who is a stranger to the realtor. It accomplishes this by starting a session that records a client’s identity, tracks activity, and alerts the appropriate people if the user does not “check in” within the user’s pre-specified time.
“Every realtor has been in the situation where they are showing a home in a private setting with a stranger,” says Dave Black, President and CEO of SharperLending LLC. “They get that sick feeling that they are vulnerable and, most of the time, that feeling goes away as quickly as it came because there is no threat. Realtors protect themselves by starting a “showing session” whenever they are alone with a new client. Safe Meeting automatically starts tracking their GPS location and posting those locations to a Safe Meeting server. They can quietly use the app to take pictures of the client, license plate number or anything else that would be identifying. These pictures along with GPS location are instantly uploaded to a server, so no matter what happens with the phone, these details are available to the Realtor’s specified contacts.
When the check-in time nears, the realtor is alerted to enter their unique PIN to continue the session. If the PIN is not entered within the allotted time, the realtor’s pre-entered contacts are automatically notified with GPS location, photos, and other tracked and identifiable information.

Realtors can also take a more proactive approach by letting clients know their company policy requires that they take these pictures and that the session is being monitored by their office. In doing this, wrongdoings may be deterred because the realtor’s potential client knows that their basic information is now recorded and available to others. The simple ability to record identifiable information - to tie a face and a license plate number to a name – will cause any assailant to pause before they act.
