BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sterne Agee, one of the oldest and largest privately held financial services firms in the United States, is announcing the installation of key staff in the company’s first international office.
Sterne Agee established an overseas presence in late 2013 with its acquisition of London-based brokerage firm Yorvik Partners LLP.
Senior Managing Director Eric Dusansky will manage Sterne Agee’s London office as well as its equity division. Dusansky relocated to London from New York, where he helped to establish Sterne Agee’s presence after joining the company in 2007. He previously worked with Oppenheimer & Co.
Seasoned High Yield trader Greg Croll will take the helm of Sterne Agee’s Fixed Income business in London. Croll joins Sterne Agee from the London Office of Imperial Capital and has more than two decades of experience in global high yield and special situations.
With much of the leadership team in place and the initial transition period completed, Yorvik founding partner Simon Mullaly will retire to spend well-earned time with his family. Commenting on his resignation, Simon Mullaly said, “After nearly 20 years in the industry, culminating in the successful sale and integration of Yorvik Partners with Sterne Agee & Leach, Inc., I feel it is the right time to step aside and spend more time with family and pursue some personal interests. I wish the very best to all those who have helped me throughout my career and specifically wish those well within the Sterne Agee organization.”
“Sterne Agee UK will miss Simon’s innumerable contributions to the company’s market growth. We remain committed to building on his legacy by maintaining the company’s presence in the distressed debt markets, while also expanding the presence of our Fixed Income Division in European High Yield, Emerging Markets and Financials,” said Brant McDuffie, Executive Managing Director and the Head of Fixed Income for Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc.
As Sterne Agee continues to build out its London team, it is welcoming:
- Aneta McGuinness, a senior salesperson who came to Sterne Agee from UBS Investment Bank and will work on the fixed income sales team.
- Phil Wing, a trader who will work in the equity division.
- Jeff Cope, a credit analyst from New York, who will work in the fixed income division under Victoria Hart, the head of credit research in London.
- Simon Gilbert, a research salesman, who will work in the equity division.
Eric Needleman, Chairman of Sterne Agee Group, Inc. and Chief Executive Officer of Sterne, Agee & Leach, Inc., commented, “We are excited for this next step at Sterne Agee UK, and we look forward to the growth of the London office. From the beginning, our European effort has been viewed as a platform to better serve our global client base, and we plan to achieve that by continuing to build our presence in Fixed Income, Equities and Emerging Markets.”
