MUNDELEIN, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The campaigning is done, nearly a half million votes have been cast and the grand prize winner of Medline Industries, Inc.’s fourth annual national Pink Glove Dance video competition is – Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) in Pomona, Calif. The Pink Glove Dance is the only breast cancer awareness campaign that unites thousands of clinicians, breast cancer survivors and communities, to celebrate hope for a cure and honor everyone affected by breast cancer through the joy of dance.

The Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center’s video received an overwhelming 81,445 online votes, securing the grand prize winner title and a $15,000 donation from Medline to the hospital’s breast cancer charity of choice, the Susan G. Komen Los Angeles Chapter. PVHMC also raised more than $2,000 for Susan G. Komen as a requirement to participate in the video competition.
Sponsored by Medline — the creator of the YouTube® sensation Pink Glove Dance and manufacturer of the pink exam gloves — the national competition included video submissions from hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other organizations spanning 30 states and Canada.

In addition to the grand prize winner, this year’s competition also awarded the top three vote getters in each of three categories: Healthcare System (i.e., a network of healthcare institutions); Standalone Healthcare Provider (an independent or single healthcare facility, i.e., not part of a healthcare system or network); and Non-Healthcare Organization (e.g., a school, non-profit or for-profit business, club, or other non-healthcare organization).
PVHMC also won first place in the Health System category along with Bellin Health System, Green Bay, Wisc., (second place) and Baptist Health Paducah, Paducah, KY, (third place). Winners in the Standalone Healthcare Provider category included: Greater Baltimore Medical Center (first place), Heath Concepts, LTD, Providence, RI., (second place), and Byron Health Center & Breast Diagnostic Center, Fort Wayne, Ind. (third place). Winners in the Non-Health Care Organization category included: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Ark., (first place), The Bear Creek Association, Bethesda, MD., (second place), and University of Maine at Augusta (third place).
First place winners received a $10,000 donation from Medline to the breast cancer charity of their choice, second place received a $5,000 donation and third place a $2,500 donation.
