BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IndependenceIT, a leading software provider of simplified IT management solutions for application and DaaS delivery, today announced that former strategic alliances manager for VMware, Jason Peoples, will be appointed as executive vice president of sales and general manager. Strong market demand for IndependenceIT’s new class of cloud workspace software has fueled the company’s ability to attract top industry talent to seize growing market opportunity.
According to industry analysts1, the market for virtual client computing is projected to reach $4.7 billion by 2018 – a 68% increase over 2013. With a year-over-year seat-count increase of 330% in 2014, IndependenceIT is poised to capitalize on this market and expand the company’s footprint across North America, EMEA and AsiaPac. In his new role, Mr. Peoples will be instrumental in defining the company’s long-term growth strategies and leading the organization in achieving sales and revenue objectives.
With more than 17 years of leadership experience in technology related sales, marketing and management functions, Mr. Peoples has a proven track record in exceeding goals and building top-performing organizations throughout his career. Prior to serving as strategic alliances manager at AirWatch by VMware, he served as vice president of sales for MediKeeper, a healthcare technology provider, where he was instrumental in restructuring the company to become a platform solution, create new go-to-market strategies and increase revenues by over 200% in his first 24 months onboard. Before MediKeeper, Peoples was vice president of business development for Diversinet where he was responsible for building partner relationships.

Mr. Peoples began his career in emerging technology at Interland, Inc. where he quickly moved from the first hired sales employee to become the vice president of sales, growing the company’s monthly recurring revenue to over $3M in less than three years. He was also instrumental in raising over $65M in early investment for Interland from Microsoft, GTE, Hewlett-Packard, and NetworkSolutions. Interland went public in 2000 and is now operating as Web.com. Post Interland, Mr. Peoples moved to NetworkSolutions, Inc., where he served as director of global sales, managed a $30 million wholesale channel partner program and created new referral revenue streams for the company. After NetworkSolutions, he was director of channel development for VeriSign, Inc., responsible for managing the global two factor authentication partner community. Peoples has also held key leadership positions as the VP of sales with Marketworks, sold to Channel Advisor, and Venafi, as VP of business development.
