Exabeam Appoints Mark Seward as Vice President of Marketing

Another SIEM veteran joins Exabeam as it delivers on the promises of SIEM

SAN MATEO, Calif.--()--Exabeam, a big data security analytics company, announced today that it has appointed Mark Seward as vice president of marketing. Former senior director, public sector at Splunk, a provider of operational intelligence software, Seward brings more than 15 years of experience in security, product management and marketing, and will be responsible for all facets of marketing. He joins Exabeam at an exciting time as the company prepares to launch its solution, which delivers on the promises security information and event management (SIEM) made to leverage big data to detect attacks. It does this by adding a layer of security intelligence on top of existing SIEM and log management technologies to automatically determine the likelihood of an attack and prioritize responses.

Seward joins a growing and seasoned executive management team, following the recent additions of early SIEM innovator Doron Keller as senior security researcher and former Imperva Senior Vice President of worldwide sales Ralph Pisani. The executive team appointments follow the recent $10 million financing round led by Matt Howard at Norwest Venture Partners that included investments from Theresia Gouw at Aspect Ventures and angel investor Shlomo Kramer.

In his time at Splunk, Seward created the company’s original security positioning and helped grow the company’s revenues tenfold to more than $100 million. His leadership and direction saw Splunk recognized as a leader in the 2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SIEM. Seward holds a Master of Science degree in information technology from the University of Maryland’s University College. Prior to Splunk, Mark served as director of product management at LogLogic and director of product marketing for Qualys.
