LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--j2 Global, Inc. (NASDAQGS: JCOM), the global provider of Internet services, today announced its expansion into the web hosting market with the acquisition of the assets of Web24 Group Pty Ltd., based in Melbourne, Australia.
Web24 offers domain name, web hosting, dedicated or shared servers and related services primarily to small and mid-size businesses in Australia and elsewhere. This is a natural extension of j2’s business cloud services and provides the infrastructure and expertise required to expand Web24’s business into additional countries, whether organically or via future acquisitions. All data for Web24’s Australian customers will continue to be stored exclusively in Australia.
“This acquisition and our entry into the web hosting arena provide j2 skilled personnel and an industry leading platform for delivering world-class hosting and related services,” said Hemi Zucker, CEO of j2. “This positions us to leverage these assets to expand this business both within Australia and to other countries, broadening j2’s business cloud services solutions globally.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed and the financial impact to j2 is not expected to be material.
