A New #1—The Boston Consulting Group Takes Top Spot in Consulting’s Best Firms to Work For Survey

Stroud Consulting is the Best Small Firm to Work For five years running

NEW YORK--()--The Boston Consulting Group is the No. 1 ranked consulting firm in this year’s Consulting® magazine’s Best Firms to Work For. BCG is the only consulting firm to appear in the ranking every single year since it debuted back in 2001. In that initial year, BCG was No. 1. Since then, it has never been ranked outside the Top 5 and spent the last five years as the No. 2 ranked firm.

In 2014, BCG outpaced the competition among the six facets of employee satisfaction the annual survey measures: Firm Culture, Career Development, Compensation & Benefits, Client Engagement, Firm Leadership and Work/Life Balance. The complete survey findings were published today in the September issue of Consulting magazine.

“BCG has been incredibly consistent. The firm has been at or near the top of our Best Firms to Work For rankings every single year,” says Consulting’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Joseph Kornik. “There is no doubt about it and the numbers don’t lie—BCG is the profession’s premier place to work this year.”

In addition to BCG, the 2014 Best Firms to Work For list includes (in alphabetical order): CapTech, Carlisle & Gallagher, Deloitte Consulting, EY, Huron Consulting Group, Kurt Salmon, L.E.K. Consulting, McGladrey, North Highland, Point B, Protiviti, PwC, Slalom Consulting and West Monroe Partners. EY, McGladrey and Protiviti are newcomers to the rankings this year.

Bain & Company, which had held the top spot for 11 consecutive years, chose not to participate in the Best Firms to Work For survey in 2014.

Meanwhile, the Best Small Firm to Work For was operations management firm Stroud Consulting. Stroud has captured the top spot five years in a row and six times in the last seven years. The remainder of the Best Small Firms to Work For include (in alphabetical order): Acquis Consulting, Aspen Advisors, Cask, Censeo Consulting, CitiSoft, IBB Consulting Group, Infinitive, Insight Sourcing Group, Meridian Compensation Partners, PeopleFirm, Solstice Mobile, Systems Evolution, Inc., Vynamic and Wilson Perumal & Company.

Consulting magazine’s 2014 Best Firms to Work For survey drew detailed employee engagement insights from more 10,000 consultants, representing more than 360 consulting firms.
