PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Janney announced today that Kevin Reed has been named Senior Vice President, head of Wealth Management. Reed most recently served as Managing Director, Taxable Fixed Income at Janney where he was responsible for the firm’s Retail and Institutional Taxable Trading and Sales businesses as well as Fixed Income Research and Strategy. Kevin was also appointed a member of Janney’s Executive Committee. Reed replaces David Penn, who recently transitioned to become a Senior Vice President/Wealth Management and Financial Advisor in Janney’s Bryn Mawr office.
“With seven years of experience at Janney, and over 17 years in the industry, Kevin has a thorough understanding of our retail business model and our Financial Advisors’ critical role in meeting client needs,” said Timothy C. Scheve, Janney’s President and CEO. “Kevin has a proven track record as a strong leader, having managed through various market conditions and cycles, and we look forward to his leadership of our wealth management division.”
Mr. Reed joined Janney in 2007 from the Radian Group, Inc. where he was responsible for credit research and portfolio management for Radian’s $5 billion investment portfolio. In addition, his experience includes roles in firms including LPL Financial, AIG Advisor Group and Fiserv Securities.
“This transition is a win-win for Janney. Kevin has a thorough understanding of the importance of enhancing our robust Wealth Management products and services platform for the benefit of our FAs and clients and Janney also retains David Penn as a seasoned industry professional now serving clients directly as a Financial Advisor in our Bryn Mawr Office,” continued Tim Scheve.
