AMSTERDAM--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oregan Networks, the Pay TV devices and systems specialist, has announced a strategic intent to offer data-driven interactive content solutions to global MSOs. The offering provisions for the trend of device-independent cloud-hosted data-mining and analytics services.
At IBC 2014, Oregan plans to demonstrate an easy-to-deploy, off-the-shelf offering that is designed to allow operators to efficiently consolidate traditional broadcast and Over-the-Top assets in a seamless media-guide application. The demonstration is being developed in collaboration with Rovi Corporation, and features Rovi Guide, a new cloud-based, multiplatform media programming guide running within Oregan’s Pay TV client middleware. Based on the analysis of viewing data, the combined solution is expected to allow for more targeted content recommendations and advertising.
Oregan’s CEO said: ‘Oregan Networks recognises the challenges that operators and subscribers face today, with a large amount of linear and on-demand programming flooding TV screens. Oregan has set out to tap into the intrinsic capabilities of our Pay TV client middleware to capture user activities for service performance and analytics purposes.’
He added, ‘The combination of Rovi’s rich editorial content with the accurate measurement of consumer’s content consumption routines creates a powerful offering for operators and viewers alike’.
