CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Canback & Company, a global management consulting firm, has appointed Arshad Abba as South Africa Country Manager. Mr. Abba will head the firm’s new Johannesburg office and oversee operations and business development in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Starting 15 September 2014, he will join a global team of consultants who will support him as he takes on the task of building the office.

Mr. Abba, a South African national, joins from Absa (Barclays Africa Group Limited) where he served as Head of Portfolio Analytics since 2009. He was responsible for overseeing the risk appetite and stress testing frameworks and the overall management of capital reporting activities. Mr. Abba was a member of Barclays Africa Risk Executive Committee since 2011. He also has six years of consulting experience with Deloitte and Ernst & Young in Johannesburg.
Mr. Abba earned an MBA from Milpark Business School and is a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers, from which he holds several specialized diplomas. He received his Bachelor of Commerce from Wits University in Johannesburg.
