St. Edward’s University Adopts TeamViewer for Remote Support for 1,000 Faculty and Staff

TAMPA, Fla. & AUSTIN, Texas--()--TeamViewer, leading software for remote control and online meetings, is the remote access tool of choice for more than 1,000 faculty and staff at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. By adopting TeamViewer, St. Edward’s University was able to provide secure remote access support to faculty and staff both on and off campus and on PC and Mac computers, increasing the IT team’s capacity by 15-20 percent.

A private, liberal arts Catholic university with more than 5,000 students and a network of partner universities around the world, St. Edward’s offers undergraduate and graduate programs designed to inspire students with a global perspective. The school has a total of eight computer labs, three of which are open 24-hours, and runs high-speed internet throughout the campus. The IT Help Desk team provides assistance six days a week to faculty and staff with any problems they experience on their computers, with occasional support provided to students in need of technical assistance.

The IT team uses remote support for troubleshooting, training and software installation, occasionally assisting students with any problems using TeamViewer QuickSupport. TeamViewer works on mobile devices, including iOS and Android. Its video and chat functionality are other convenient features that help the university’s IT staff deliver improved responsiveness to its educators as well as increased service satisfaction.
