HKTDC: Multifunctional toys, bags and pushchairs are trumps – Hong Kong at Kind + Jugend in Cologne

FRANKFURT, Germany--()--On the joint stand organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in Hall 11.3 (Stand E-050) at the Kind + Jugend trade fair in Cologne from September 11 to 14, 2014, Hong Kong companies will be exhibiting a variety of products ranging from educational toys through bags that fold out into baby cots to multifunctional pushchairs.

Demand for versatile products is increasing among parents. “Pony Alex from Scientific PU Foam Company Limited (E-058) was awarded in the category “Baby, Kids’ and Children’s Product Design” at the last HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair. The sturdy, individual parts can be pieced together into a thick play mat or Pony Alex for sitting and rocking on. Wellplace Industrial Limited (F-057) will be presenting a practical shoulder bag convertible into a baby bed in just a few steps. Unison Worldwide Limited (E-052) is marketing multifunctional strollers with a frame which can rapidly be adjusted using different top parts and also hold a golf bag or shopping basket. The brand name “Panoda” of Marsilli Sports Company Limited (F-055) stands for well-designed and safe pushchairs and strollers and devices such as babyphones. Manida Manufacturer Company Limited (E-054) showcases high quality bags that can be turned into a diaper-changing mat.

The portfolio of Wing on Wong’s King (Trade) Limited (F-051) ranges from bedding to child safety gates. The sets of the “Gifthing” series from Product Innovator Limited (F-059) includes boxes with photo and baby albums and frames to document the first months. Dragon Force (International) Industrial Limited (E-056) introduces a new line of casual and stylish kids’ clothing named “DragonForceKids”.

Toy exports from Hong Kong reached USD 3.3 billion (-14.6 per cent) in the first seven months 2014. Exports to Europe exceeded the previous year’s figures. The highest demand was primarily for three-wheelers, scooters, doll’s prams, dolls and puzzles, followed by board games and video games. With baby clothing, the metropolis achieved export sales of USD 204 million (-10 per cent) in the same period.

The next HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair and the HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair will be opening its doors at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from January 12 to 15, 2015.
