WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste Political Action Committee (CCAGW PAC) announced its endorsements of four members of the South Carolina delegation for re-election to the House of Representatives; Reps. Jeff Duncan (R), Trey Gowdy (R), Mick Mulvaney (R), and Mark Sanford (R).
CCAGW PAC based its endorsements on each candidate’s score in CCAGW’s 2013 Congressional Ratings. Each of these candidates is a “Taxpayer Hero” with a lifetime rating of 90 percent or greater.
With a score of 96 percent, Rep. Mulvaney has the highest lifetime rating of the four candidates. In CCAGW’s 2012 Congressional Ratings, Rep. Mulvaney was one of five members of Congress to achieve a 100 percent rating, earning him the coveted title of “Taxpayer Super Hero.” Rep. Gowdy, has a lifetime rating of 95 percent, and Reps. Duncan and Sanford have a lifetime rating of 94 percent. During his three terms as the representative of South Carolina’s First Congressional District from 1995-2001, Rep. Sanford was named a “Taxpayer Super Hero” three times, and had the second-highest lifetime rating of any member of Congress at the time he left the House in 2001.
“The courageous actions of each of these public servants has helped cut wasteful spending, reduce taxes, and make government more accountable and transparent to taxpayers,” said CCAGW PAC Chairman Tom Schatz. “I urge South Carolinians to vote for Reps. Duncan, Gowdy, Mulvaney, and Sanford on Nov. 4 so they can return to Washington, D.C. and continue to protect the interests of both their constituents and all Americans.”
CCAGW PAC is affiliated with the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste, a 501(c)(4) organization. CCAGW PAC’s mission is to support political candidates who will fight to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in government and represent the best interests of taxpayers.
