NEW YORK--()--ShopKeep has today unveiled a new look, including a new logo, tagline, and website design, that founder and co-CEO Jason Richelson says “respects where we’ve come from but better reflects where we are, and where we intend to go as a company.”

A former small business owner, Richelson started ShopKeep in the basement of his own wine store in 2008 after growing frustrated with the unreliability and excessive cost of his point-of-sale system.

ShopKeep has since grown quickly from a four-person team based in the Hive at 55 co-working space in New York to a leading provider of iPad point of sale, with more than 10,000 merchants and 130 employees based in three offices (NYC, Portland and Belfast, Northern Ireland). The new look and feel is designed to more clearly reflect the unique founding story of ShopKeep and the company mission that exists as a result.

“A good brand is a promise to customers and at ShopKeep we provide small businesses with a more efficient, reliable, and intelligent point-of-sale system so they can compete with big corporations and win. So much has changed during the past six years, and while our motivations are the same, the ways we go about keeping that promise is evolving,” Richelson said.

The rebrand was carried out in-house by ShopKeep Creative Director Matt Cullin, who explained the full process and reasoning behind the rebrand in a recent company meeting. [See Video]

Ike Escava, owner of The Bean coffee shop in New York City, described ShopKeep’s commitment to customer service. “They are real people who care about my business. They care about me getting the help I need, not just closing a job ticket. I can speak to them live, virtually any time. They are the best in the business.”

ShopKeep’s rebrand comes after a number of important milestones. The company recently upgraded its product suite for bars and restaurants, a large market that has not traditionally enjoyed the benefits of cloud-based software and modern hardware, and introduced Custom Email Receipts.
