Trax Technologies is a Top Company to Work for in Arizona, Says Online Job Site CareerBuilder

Trax’s startup culture lands tech company on the 2014 top employer list

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--()--Trax Technologies is among the “Top Companies to Work for in Arizona” for 2014, according to CareerBuilder, a website for online job recruiting.

CareerBuilder recognized 75 Arizona companies in total. Trax was one of 30 in the category of small companies with 25 to 99 U.S. employees.

The companies were chosen on the strength of employer questionnaires and employee-satisfaction surveys, CareerBuilder said. In scoring the companies, judges gave three times more weight to the employee surveys. They rated the companies against 10 selection criteria, including company culture and communication, work environment, pay and benefits, and training and development.

Scott Nelson, chief executive officer of Trax, said he attributes much of his company’s growth to the expert team that works at Trax offices around the world.

“We suggest to new employees that they have their passport ready,” Nelson said. “As much as possible, we give them the opportunity to visit our four other global offices in Europe, Asia and Latin America.”

The physical work environment at Trax also has strong appeal, Nelson noted. All Trax offices have the feel of Silicon Valley workplaces. They have open floor plans and an “agile studio” setup where people can easily group in informal teams, he said. Individuals can choose where they want to work—in open workstations, standing locations, or restaurant-style booths. The company has no cubicles. It provides conference rooms for meetings and private conference calls.

All employees receive a new MacBook laptop computer to stay connected wherever they work. In summer, every day at Trax is like casual Friday. The company serves free breakfast, and the espresso bar is busy. Food trucks visit the Trax Scottsdale office for lunch on Tuesdays. The company is also displaying World Cup matches on big-screen TV sets in June and July.

About Trax

Trax Technologies, Inc., provides a logistics data refinery that serves both buyers and sellers of logistics services. The company adds value by refining logistics data that comes from multiple sources. Before Trax refines logistics data, it is often inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent.

Trax estimates that such bad logistics data costs the $4.2 trillion transportation industry hundreds of billions of dollars a year. The cost arises from inefficiency, uncontrolled financial risk, distorted financial reporting, and sub-optimal decision-making.

Through an open SaaS technology platform, Trax cleans, completes and reconciles bad logistics data. Companies can then use the purified logistics data to reduce the high cost of industry inefficiency. They can also reduce uncontrolled risk, improve financial reporting and make better decisions through improved data analytics.

Trax operates offices in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America.
