Availity Engages emids to Develop Health IT Delivery Center

Facility to be based in Nashville, Tennessee; will capitalize on local health IT talent

Move reinforces Availity’s commitment to Nashville location

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--()--Availity, one of the nation’s leading health information networks, and emids, a healthcare-focused technology services and solutions organization, today announced plans to establish a technology center for Availity in Nashville, Tennessee. The collaboration follows Availity’s acquisition of Brentwood, Tennessee-based RevPoint Healthcare Technologies earlier this month and leverages emids’ downtown Nashville location.

“Nashville has long been a hub for health care and health care IT,” said Trent Gavazzi, Availity’s Chief Technology Officer. “Working with emids to establish a base of operations for Availity in this market just made sense. All the pieces really came together when we acquired RevPoint: we’re growing, we need to increase our development bandwidth, we’ve been partners with emids for some time now, and the RevPoint acquisition gave us a physical presence in Nashville. The decision to expand in this market was easy.”

“We are delighted to be working with Availity on this initiative,” said Michael Hollis, senior vice president of sales and marketing for emids. “Our mutual growth and business expansion in Nashville is a reflection of the innovative culture and rich talent this city offers. Leveraging our services model will allow Availity to accelerate product development efforts, enabling them to meet client and market demands for new solutions even faster than before.”

emids’ expanded Nashville delivery center will have dedicated Availity teams, complementing the resources in place at Availity’s other locations across the country. Over the next few months, the two companies will source approximately 60 new team members to complement current staff. "Our health care IT expertise and ability to scale provides a natural fit for this expanded partnership," said Rick Fuqua, senior vice president of US Delivery for emids.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Availity to capitalize on the uniquely talented health care IT personnel in the Nashville area,” said Hal Andrews, vice president of Hospital Solutions for Availity, who is based in Nashville. “More than anything, we’re excited about ramping up operations here in Nashville so we can deliver more for our growing number of customers. We have a terrific partner in emids, which will allow Availity to expand even more quickly in Nashville. It’s a great match.”
