NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Viggle Inc. (NASDAQ:VGGL) (“Viggle”), the entertainment marketing and rewards platform, today announced the new daily web video series Ditch the DVR on Wetpaint, the Viggle-owned and operated entertainment property.
Ditch the DVR uses the TV fan girl voice of Wetpaint to tell users about what is hot in celebrity and TV news today—and what to watch tonight. Combining the Viggle App’s best-in-class ability to drive tune-in, NextGuide show reminders, and Wetpaint’s wide reach and trusted voice in TV, Ditch the DVR further positions Viggle Inc. as a leader in pushing live TV viewing. Working with television networks, Viggle and Wetpaint can bring several owned and operated properties to bear on a tune-In promotion. In addition, the daily Ditch the DVR show, Wetpaint can also feature content in their PromoSpy videos, which feature editors and experts giving their take on network and show promos.
"Wetpaint’s Ditch the DVR will quickly become an influencer for TV and web video tune-in as we further leverage the Viggle Inc. TV tune-in products, such as Viggle points, NextGuide reminders, live companion experiences, and others,” said Kevin Arrix, Chief Revenue Officer of Viggle. “The Wetpaint site and social media network allows us to engage fans who are specifically looking for more information on the next episode of their favorite shows. The opportunity extends beyond network television and we’re talking to multiple web-based content creators about using the program to drive additional engagement with their properties.”
Viggle Inc.’s properties include the Viggle app, which offers rewards for watching TV, engaging with advertisements or listening to music; NextGuide, a personalized TV programming guide and distributed reminder platform; and Wetpaint, an entertainment news and social publishing platform. In March 2014, Viggle Inc. achieved a total reach of 20.8 million, which is defined as the total number of registered users for the Viggle app and unique monthly users of the Wetpaint media properties.
