DETROIT--()--In cities across America, we are witnessing a “Rise of the ‘Entrepreneurial’ Rest.” To celebrate the changing landscape of our entrepreneurial economy, Steve Case is spearheading the Rise of the Rest Road Tour, which will make its first stop in Detroit on Tuesday, June 24th. Members of the media are invited to join a press availability with local and national entrepreneurs and civic leaders to discuss trends bolstering Detroit’s startup economy, and the efforts to shine a national spotlight on young, high-growth companies outside of Silicon Valley.

Following the press availability, reporters will have the opportunity to board the Rise of the Rest Road Tour bus to join the day’s events, including visits to local companies (Detroit Ventures Partners, Detroit Labs, DIME, Bizdom, Shinola, Loveland Technologies and others); a fireside chat at Grand Circus featuring Steve Case and Dan Gilbert; and a pitch competition at the M@dison Building auditorium, where local companies will pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to take home a $100K investment from Steve Case.

Steve will also be meeting with Chris Thomas (Founder and Partner at Fontinalis Partners) and other private and public sector leaders in the area to discuss how Detroit can leverage its past and present to build the entrepreneurial ecosystem that will drive its future.

The Rise of the Rest Road Tour launches in Detroit on June 24th, and the bus will travel to Pittsburgh on June 25th, Cincinnati on June 26th, and conclude in Nashville on June 27th.
