WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Six years ago, Tiversa President Robert Boback approached LabMD founder and CEO Michael J. Daugherty, setting off a chain of events which led to Daugherty’s fight to expose the overreach of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) by standing up against their unfounded claims.
It is a modern-day David and Goliath story, and today, the underdog gained the support of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The Committee has notified the FTC that it is investigating Tiversa and Boback, having found the company’s information to be “incomplete and inaccurate” and acknowledging that testimony from Tiversa officials “may not have been truthful.” Mr. Daugherty remains steadfast in his confidence that the truth will be revealed and that he will be cleared of the FTC’s claims against him and his company.
Daugherty recognizes that a win for him is actually a win for every doctor, nurse, healthcare facility and small business in the United States. Ultimately this is an indictment of the FTC’s egregiously unfair and obtrusive practices.
