ST. LOUIS--()--Chamberlain College of Nursing announced the appointment of Dr. Rhoberta Haley as president of its St. Louis campus effective immediately. Rhoberta Haley, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, has 40 years of clinical, executive, academic and entrepreneurial experience. In her new role, she will oversee implementation of the curriculum, delivery of student services, growth and development of regional clinical partnerships and management of day-to-day operations.

“Dr. Haley’s diverse experience in healthcare and academia will be invaluable to students as they navigate their nursing careers,” said Susan Groenwald, PhD, MSN, RN, national president of Chamberlain College of Nursing. “We look forward to the future accomplishments of faculty and students under her leadership.”

Dr. Haley succeeds Jan DeMasters, PhD, MSN, RN, who served as president of the St. Louis campus since 2010. Dr. DeMasters is joining Chamberlain’s national accreditation team as senior manager of accreditation and licensing and plans to apply the experience she gained working with local accrediting bodies to her new role working with national accreditors.

“We are thankful for Dr. DeMasters' dedication to student success for the past four years and welcome her to Chamberlain's national accreditation team,” Dr. Groenwald added.

Prior to joining Chamberlain, Dr. Haley was a professor and director of nursing at the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies at Olivet Nazarene University, where she oversaw curriculum evaluation for the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) degree program, the Registered Nurse to BSN and Master of Science in Nursing degree programs and post-masters certificate programs. As director of Azusa Pacific University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program from 2011 to 2013, Dr. Haley received a faculty research grant and developed the university’s DNP program.

Dr. Haley earned a BSN degree from California State University, a Master of Nursing degree with family nurse practitioner specialization from the University of California and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of San Diego. She is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Additionally, Dr. Haley is a registered nurse in the states of California, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada and Oklahoma.

“Chamberlain is known for the superior educational experience it provides students through hands-on academic support, dedicated faculty and clinical opportunities that reflect the evolving healthcare landscape,” Dr. Haley said. “I am proud to be president of its founding campus in St. Louis and look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence in supporting the future nurses who will improve patient care in our communities.”
