Boston Biomedical Associates Medical Director Receives Medical Society Distinction

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass.--()--Boston Biomedical Associates (BBA), a medical device development and biopharmaceutical services organization, is proud to recognize Bonnie H. Weiner, MD, MSEC, MBA, MSCAI, FACC for her outstanding achievement in the field of Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Weiner was selected to the inaugural class of MSCAI - Master Interventionalist of The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). Dr. Weiner was recognized along with 17 of her peers at the SCAI annual meeting in Las Vegas, NV as one of the first to receive this honor.

Dr. Weiner stated, “It is truly an honor to be recognized in this way by my peers. I am humbled by this recognition, and I am truly honored to be awarded with this distinction.” According to SCAI, “the MSCAI designation was developed to recognize SCAI Fellows who have been recognized by their peers as having developed excellence in invasive/interventional Cardiology over a career, manifested by a commitment to the highest levels of clinical care, innovation, publication and teaching.” SCAI Past President Christopher J. White, MD FSCAI, stated the MSCAI distinction is for “those who have achieved excellence in their professional accomplishments.”

Dr. Weiner is currently the Executive Director of Medical Affairs for Boston Biomedical Associates, the Director of Interventional Cardiology Research and the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship, Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, Massachusetts and President of Imaging Core Lab Services. In addition, Dr. Weiner is a past president of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). She is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Weiner is well known and respected for her extensive research in cardiovascular disease, having authored or co-authored more than 75 papers based on her work. Prior to joining Saint Vincent Hospital, she was the Director of the Center for Research in Invasive and Interventional Cardiology and Associate Medical Director of the Center for Advanced Clinical Technology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. During her 25 years at UMass, she served in a number of other capacities, including Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Director of the Heartbeat of New England Mobile Cardiac Catheterization Service.
