TYSONS CORNER, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cardinal Bank (NASDAQ: CFNL) is pleased to announce the opening of a new student-run elementary school bank in Fairfax County. The opening activities for the "Oakton Panther Bank" at Oakton Elementary School were held Thursday, April 24, 2014. Dr. Fabio E. Zuluaga, Assistant Superintendent-Cluster VIII, and Oakton Elementary Assistant Principal, Keith Eck, Fairfax County Public Schools, joined Cardinal Bank President, F. Kevin Reynolds, student banking officers and guests for the event.
Using Cardinal’s award-winning school bank model, Oakton fifth graders applied for job positions with the student-run bank, which is open one day a week from 7:45AM – 8:15AM. Cardinal Bank employees assist the students with their banking transactions, and oversee operations at the deposit-only bank.
