2014 Richard D. Parsons Community Impact Awards

NEW YORK--()--Time Warner Inc. (NYSE:TWX) honored employees’ exceptional community and public service contributions at its Richard D. Parsons Community Impact Awards on Tuesday at the Time Warner Center in New York City. The awards, a 33-year company tradition previously known as the Andrew Heiskell Community Service Awards, have been renamed this year for Richard Parsons, former Chairman and CEO of Time Warner and a national role model for civic and community service.

“To be associated with men and women who have distinguished themselves and are recognized for what they’ve done for others, it’s not only heroic, but it’s noble,” Parsons said at yesterday’s award ceremony. “And it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Time Warner awarded this year’s five individual Community Impact Award winners $5,000 and awarded a team of recipients $10,000 to donate to the charity(ies) of their choice. The ceremony included announcing the first-ever “Excellence in Service Award,” in which employees from across Time Warner voted to determine which recipients should receive an additional $5,000 donation to the organization that they were recognized for.

“Time Warner has a longstanding tradition of giving back to the communities in which we work and live,” said Jeff Bewkes, Chairman and CEO of Time Warner Inc. “I feel privileged to work alongside so many passionate and caring people who’ve helped to make volunteerism an inherent part of our company’s culture.”
