Univision Deportes Matches Schedule for FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014

MIAMI--()--Uniting all its media platforms and properties around the global sporting event that generates the most intense passion in Hispanic fans, bar none – the FIFA World Cup, Univision Communications Inc. The FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014™ takes place between June 12 and July 13, 2014.

Univision Deportes’ all-encompassing coverage from Brazil will take center stage across UCI’s broadcast, cable, and digital platforms. On the broadcast side, the Univision Network will lead the World Cup excitement by airing the most live matches – 56, all simulcast on Univision Deportes Network – narrated by an unrivaled team of expert play-by-play announcers and commentators that includes Enrique “El Perro” Bermúdez, Félix “El Gato” Fernández, Jesús “El Profe” Bracamontes, and Luis Omar Tapia, among others, as well as featuring numerous World Cup-related specials and regular segments in Univision’s entertainment and news programs, presented by some of the Network’s most popular personalities who will be in Brazil to cover all the color and excitement surrounding the event. Broadcast network UniMás and Spanish-language cable leader Galavisión will air eight live games and special programming during the month-long tournament; Galavisión will also broadcast the best match of the day in primetime in a 60 minute format.

Univision Deportes Network (UDN), the sports-only 24-hour cable network launched by UCI in 2012, will deliver more World Cup content than any other network in the U.S. with all of its programming focused exclusively on the championship as of Monday, June 9. UDN promises viewers a more intensive World Cup experience than they ever had before, through first-ever 24/7 coverage of the tournament, including live broadcasts of 56 matches, informative and entertaining World Cup specials, new morning and nighttime shows devoted entirely to the FIFA World Cup, and daily special editions of the network’s regular sports commentary programs, airing live from Rio de Janeiro. UDN will have original and/or live programming for 17 consecutive hours a day, from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. ET, highlighted by extended live pre-game shows for each match, with “Fútbol Club Desde Río” serving as the first live show each night to recap the action from each day. All live coverage will originate from UDN’s three set locations in Brazil.

The increasingly important digital platform is another area where Univision Deportes will deliver an expanded, unprecedented 2014 World Cup experience, using cutting-edge technology to take fans deep inside the action.
