Coravin Wine Access System Wins Gold in Consumer Goods Category at 2014 Edison Awards

Revolutionary Wine Access Technology Receives Top Honors at 27th Annual Edison Awards Gala

BURLINGTON, Mass.--()--The Coravin Wine Access System, by Coravin Inc., has been voted a gold winner for innovation in the Consumer Goods: Food & Beverage Preparation category at the 2014 Edison Awards, held at the Julia Morgan Ballroom on April 30th in San Francisco. Coravin won for its groundbreaking Coravin 1000™ Wine Access System which allows users to pour a glass of wine from a bottle without ever pulling the cork.

The Edison Awards are celebrating their 27th year of honoring excellence in new product and service development, marketing, design and innovation. The ballot of nominees for the Edison Awards was judged by a panel of more than 3,000 leading business executives including past award winners, academics and leaders in the fields of product development, design, engineering, science and medical.

“I am honored that the Edison Awards have chosen to recognize Coravin as a gold award winner, and we gladly join the Edison family to support future innovators as their dreams become reality,” said Coravin Founder, Greg Lambrecht. “Ten years ago, my passion to enjoy a good glass of wine any time, without pulling the cork, was just a wish and today it is an industry-changing technology that is opening up wine cellars everywhere.”

Being recognized with an Edison Award has become one of the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business. The awards are named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) whose inventions, new product development methods and innovative achievements changed the world, garnered him 1,093 U.S. patents, and made him a household name around the world.

Lambrecht attended the Awards Gala and accepted the award on behalf of the entire Coravin team. Since its launch in July 2013, Coravin has transformed the way restaurants, bars, wineries, wine stores and wine loving consumers enjoy, serve and sell wine.
