Styron Announces Plans for Global Community Volunteer Days Program

BERWYN, Pa.--()--Styron, the global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex and rubber, today announced that it will launch a new community outreach program which encourages employees and their families to volunteer in support of the local communities in which Styron operates. The Global Volunteer Days program involving Styron’s 2,100 employees in 27 countries around the world will begin on May 7, 2014 and run for 11 days.

“Supporting the local communities in which we operate is a core value at Styron,” said Chris Pappas, president and CEO, Styron. “Ever since we formed Styron, employees have been actively volunteering. This new program will expand and connect our volunteering activities globally, and will allow us to recognize and raise awareness for volunteering.”

Volunteer Days projects can be any activity for public benefit that ties to our community relations themes of environment, improving the community, and education. Projects are done in collaboration with an existing non-profit organization that has a similar mission related to these themes.
