NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bliss Integrated Communication, a 40-year-old marketing communication agency specializing in professional services and the dynamic health and wealth sectors, is now owned by three long-term employees who have collectively invested more than sixty years in the New York City-based firm. Elizabeth Sosnow, managing partner, Meg Wildrick, managing partner, and Cortney Stapleton, partner, have worked together at the firm for fourteen years and are now its majority owners. The new structure makes Bliss eligible for certification as a Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE).
In an era of big firm acquisitions, the management buy-out strengthens Bliss’ entrepreneurial culture, creating career paths for staff and stability for clients. The firm's purchase also reinforces Bliss’s commitment to integrated marketing, which combines traditional public relations with social media, health care advocacy relations, brand identity and digital content marketing.
Bliss began in the 1970s as a business-to-business agency serving professional services firms, where it made great strides in content development and distribution “before content was cool.”
“With no tangible products to speak of, professional service organizations have always had to demonstrate value with human capital, intellectual acuity and vision,” said Wildrick, who returned to Bliss after starting her career with the company, then working as a financial consultant with McKinsey and marketing director at a division of GE Capital. “As the core competency supporting everything we do, it’s our competitive advantage and the platform from which we have launched new integrated offerings in both the B2B and B2C spaces.”
The firm offers a unique crossover of expertise in its health care, financial and professional service offerings. Bliss currently employs about 40 people, including former journalists, digital experts, health care advocacy professionals and former bankers, lawyers and business consultants.
“For many years, we have been focused on becoming a new breed of agency– one that embraces the evolution of our industry to better meet clients’ needs through an integrated marketing communications approach,” said Sosnow, who has been part of the management team since 1996 and currently sits on the global board of directors for Worldcom, the largest international partnership of independently-owned PR and marketing firms. “We’ve always fostered an ownership culture; professionals are accountable to their clients and the firm for their career progression. Our purchase of the firm is further proof of our commitment and investment in our business strategy, our clients and our team members."
