Browser Compatibility a Challenge for Many Organizations – Today and Tomorrow
While older application releases generally have more compatibility issues with newer Internet browsers, even organizations running current application releases commonly have multiple client platforms such as desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones, with different operating systems including Windows, OSX, Chrome, iOS or Android, each with their own Internet browsers. These different platforms frequently interpret standard HTML code differently, causing interpretive discrepancies that often lead to compatibility challenges between new and future browser products and releases, and current or older releases of ERP systems.

Global Client Successfully Deploys Rimini Street Smart Proxy Server

In December 2013, Rimini Street Technology Support Services successfully implemented the Rimini Street Smart Proxy Server to solve a browser incompatibility issue between Apple Computer’s Safari browser and ModusLink’s SAP system. After installing and configuring RSI SPS, the SAP HTML code sent to clients running Apple Safari was reinterpreted in real-time to display correctly. Simultaneously, the HTML code sent to clients using Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers remained unchanged, thus enabling the same SAP applications to communicate correctly with both clients.
