NEW YORK & CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dick Burridge, CEO and chief investment officer of RMB Capital, an independent investment advisory firm with more than $3.8 billion in assets under management, has been selected as a panel member for the prestigious Tiburon CEO Summit XXVI.
The Summit will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New York City on Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Burridge, a nearly 30-year industry veteran who has been ranked among Barron’s “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors” in the U.S. for five consecutive years, will participate in a panel discussion from 12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. ET on April 8, which will address “The Future of Financial Advisor Acquisitions.”
Burridge co-founded RMB Capital in Chicago on April 1, 2005 – at a time when establishing an independent advisory firm was uncommon. Since then, his firm has expanded to offer asset management, retirement plan consulting, and alternative investments, in addition to wealth management, and serves individual and institutional clients across the U.S. Based on his industry expertise and first-hand experience in running an independent investment advisory firm, Burridge will address three key points during the panel discussion:
- The accelerated growth of financial advisor acquisitions;
- How size impacts a firm’s ability to compete in today’s marketplace; and,
- The choice between building or buying when looking to grow an advisory business.
Tiburon Strategic Advisors hosts the Tiburon CEO Summit twice a year for its executive-level clients. Tiburon’s CEO Summits provide a unique opportunity for a select cross-industry group of senior executives to discuss a broad swath of issues regarding the future of the banking, brokerage, investments, insurance, advice, and wealth management businesses. Tiburon's CEO Summits likely provide one of the only true forums where financial services industry CEOs from across traditional industry silos gather to discuss business opportunities.
After the Summit concludes on April 9, Burridge will join a conversation with CNBC “Closing Bell” Host Bill Griffeth at 3:45 p.m. ET to provide his perspective on topics such the U.S. recovery and whether it can translate into sustained investment performance and investment opportunities in unexpected places. Burridge is a frequent guest on CNBC’s “Closing Bell Exchange.”
