MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zelle Hofmann Voelbel & Mason LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of its employment and risk management practice with the addition of Judith Bevis Langevin as a partner in the firm’s Minneapolis office.
For more than 30 years, Langevin has represented clients in employment-related matters including discrimination and wrongful termination litigation, sexual harassment cases, and providing advice and training to businesses and other organizations on personnel issues.
“With Judy’s arrival, our employment and risk management practice takes a big step forward,” said Dan Millea, a member of the Zelle Hofmann executive committee who is resident in the firm’s Minneapolis office. “She is keenly aware of the importance of employment law and how it intersects with information governance and eDiscovery, which will help our business clients effectively manage risk, including the risks associated with cyber exposures and employees’ use of social media.”
“Having previously represented Zelle Hofmann on employment-related matters, I know that the firm has a strong commitment to providing services that every business needs,” said Langevin. “My practice is committed to making the law and legal requirements accessible, manageable and understandable for my clients. Zelle Hofmann has exceptional resources, infrastructure and talent that will make this happen.”
Since 1985, Langevin has been an employment law and litigation attorney at major law firms in the Twin Cities. She also served as the assistant director of the City of St. Paul Department of Human Rights from 1973-1975 and was the assistant commissioner for enforcement for the State of Minnesota Department of Human Rights from 1977-1981. She managed the investigative and contract compliance activities of these two agencies.
A prolific speaker and author, she has shared her insights on myriad employment-related matters, including employees’ use of electronic communication and devices, sexual harassment in the workplace, equal employment laws, and discrimination charges, among others.
Her professional affiliations include serving on the board of directors of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice. She was honored with the Hennepin County Bar Association Diversity Award in 2010, the Minnesota Women Lawyers Myra Bradwell Award in 2004, and the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Professional Excellence Award in 1990. For 20 years, she has been recognized by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Minnesota Super Lawyers. She has also been selected by the editors of Chambers USA as one of Minnesota’s top employment and labor law attorneys.
