John O’Donnell, vice president of business development at GlassPoint, will present next Tuesday afternoon on the advantages of using solar steam generators for thermal EOR in emissions-constrained environments.

GlassPoint designed its enclosed trough technology specifically for the oil and gas industry. The glasshouse structure protects the solar collectors from high winds, sand and dust common in oil producing regions. GlassPoint’s project with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), the largest oil and gas producer in Oman, recently completed its first year of operations, exceeding performance targets.
