SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--SoundHound Inc., the revolutionary sound search company, today launched “Add to Spotify,” an exclusive new feature that allows SoundHound users to turn their discovered music into a playlist within Spotify without ever leaving the SoundHound app.

With “Add to Spotify,” SoundHound and Spotify users can add songs to a SoundHound playlist within Spotify, either automatically or with one tap of the ‘Add to Playlist’ icon seen on the SoundHound results page. SoundHound users had previously been able to listen to discovered tracks on Spotify, but now they can also generate playlists on Spotify while still inside SoundHound. The feature debuts today on SoundHound’s iOS App (version 5.8) with authentication through the Spotify iOS App.

“SoundHound users around the world have been asking for a way to have their music discoveries automatically live inside their favorite music streaming service, which is exactly what we have delivered through ‘Add to Spotify’,” said Katie McMahon, Vice President of SoundHound Inc. “SoundHound focuses on offering the best music search and discovery experience. By enabling playlist creation and deepening our partnership with Spotify, SoundHound has further cemented itself as the gateway for all things mobile music.”

The SoundHound registration process will now give users the ability to link their SoundHound and Spotify accounts. Once linked, users can opt to have discovered songs added to their playlist either automatically or manually by tapping the Spotify icon. Users can then listen to the full track, add it to other playlists or share directly with other Spotify users using other social networking tools.

"Spotify and SoundHound's shared passion for music discovery makes this partnership a natural fit," said Alex Norström, VP, Growth, Spotify. "At Spotify we want to be everywhere people discover, talk about and engage with music."

SoundHound is available globally and the ‘Add to Spotify’ is now available in 54 markets around the world where Spotify is available. SoundHound users who do not have a free or premium Spotify account will have the option to create one.

The SoundHound app is available for free from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, or at http://bit.ly/SoundHoundiTunes.
