Northwest Flower & Garden Show Opens Tomorrow (Feb. 5); Joins “12th Man” Seahawk Victory Salute with Discounts

SEATTLE--()--The Northwest Flower & Garden Show, opening tomorrow (Wed. Feb. 5), joins the “12th Man” salute to the victorious Seattle Seahawks by extending its “Early Bird” ticket discount.

It’s “Blue Wednesday” on opening day as the show celebrates the Super Bowl winners by offering attendees (and victory parade-goers!) special discounts, including $17 adult admission ($5 savings) and $10 tickets purchased after 3 p.m. Youth ages 13 – 17 are admitted for $5 and children 12 and under are free. The Northwest Flower & Garden Show provides imagination and inspiration with its magnificent showcase of gardens big and small, over 100 free seminars, a big line-up of exhibitors in the Marketplace, interactive family activities and more.

“Art in Bloom” is the show’s theme, with top garden designers embracing a festive tribute to art in over 20 colorful and dramatic display gardens.

Complementing the eye-popping display gardens, the “Small Space Showcase” presents innovative, idea-generating small space and container gardens. The bustling Marketplace is a shopping destination with over 350 exhibitors offering the hottest gardening gear, plants, and unique art for the home and garden.

The “Play With Friends” family activity area, presented by Friends of Waterfront Seattle, is a place to imagine the waterfront’s “post-Viaduct” future. It’s a fun-filled environment where children can create fish, sea creatures, cranes and other structures with roboticized Legos and contribute to a Waterfront mural.

Show sponsors are again taking an active role in the show. Subaru showcases the artful “Native Renaissance,” with copper wheels turning to feed an heirloom garden side-by-side with a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid. Joe Lamp’l, executive producer and host of the PBS series Growing a Greener World, hosts a special presentation daily from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., #SubaruHybrid presents: The Hi-Tech Garden (The art of using technology & social media to grow your garden and garden network).
