ATLANTA--()--The Citi Team USA Flag Tour stopped at Citi’s Atlanta, Georgia, site where U.S. Olympian Picabo Street joined Bill Johnson, CEO of Atlanta-based Citi Retail Services, and employees to celebrate Citi’s Every Step of the Way® program. Citi is the Official Retail Bank Partner of the 2014 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams.

"We were honored to host Picabo at Citi today and to celebrate the impact the Every Step of the Way program will have on communities across America," said Johnson. "The athletes on Team USA embody the journey from ambition to achievement. Picabo inspired us with her personal story of not only representing our country, but also achieving the highest level of success -- bringing home a gold medal.”

Street spoke to a crowd of more than 100 employees and their families, highlighting her participation in Citi's Every Step of the Way program and sharing her personal journey to the top of the Olympic podium. Street is one of nine U.S. Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls participating in the Every Step of the Way program as “Team Citi.”

Citi first launched the Every Step of the Way program ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by inviting Team USA fans to help allocate a portion of Citi’s initial $500,000 donation to the U.S. Olympic Committee to support sport programs that inspired the journeys of each of the Team Citi athletes. Building on the success of Citi’s inaugural U.S. Olympic campaign, in late October Citi again made a $500,000 donation commitment to the U.S. Olympic Committee, and fans of Street have since rallied behind her selected community sport program: Stay on the Slopes, an initiative dedicated to providing injury prevention technology to keep athletes injury-free on and off the slopes. Street aims to direct $50,000 of Citi's donation to benefit Stay on the Slopes, and fans can support her at citi.com/everystep.

As an official partner of Team USA and the USOC, Citi is bringing the Olympic Spirit to Citi sites and locations across the country in the months leading up to the 2014 Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Through the Citi Team USA Flag Tour, employees and community partners have the opportunity to meet U.S. athletes, hear their inspirational stories and show their support for Team USA. The Citi Team USA flag will be displayed at Citi's Atlanta site through the Sochi Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Atlanta is home to Citi employees working in Retail Services, the Institutional Clients Group, Citi Mortgage and several support functions.
