SAN FRANCISCO--()--Safedome™ is a revolutionary fraud prevention solution that lets consumer service providers, such as identity theft protection companies, put proactive fraud and identity protection - and active alarming - right in their customers' wallets. Safedome debuts with technology partner Texas Instruments (TI) in north meeting room N115-N120 at the International CES held in Las Vegas January 7-10, 2014.

"Our collaboration with TI enables us to offer a user-friendly customer experience using secure Bluetooth low energy technology," said Matt Denton, CEO Maxwell Forest, the company behind Safedome. "TI is also a critical link in our product chain with business customers. As a result, businesses are now able to offer a breakthrough fraud prevention solution that provides their customers with additional peace-of-mind."

Safedome is the first product to securely pair a credit card-sized hardware device that fits into a person's wallet with a smartphone, creating a fraud solution that's integrated with the cloud. The Safedome application ("app") proactively alarms the person in the event that its pre-set area is breached and the connection between the Safedome card and smartphone is ever broken.

Three Secure Elements for State-of-the-Art Identity Protection:

Within the Safedome card is an ultra-thin computer that is invisibly and securely tied to both the consumer's smartphone and the cloud. The card interacts with an application on the smartphone using active "always on" technology that takes preventative action in the event that a consumer's wallet or smartphone is lost, left-behind, or stolen. The three identity protection elements include:

  • Wallet containing the Safedome card: If stolen the consumer is promptly alerted with an alarm on the protected mobile device. Once this alert is generated the consumer can quickly notify card issuers to block or cancel the consumer's debit and credit cards through the intuitive interface on the mobile device app.
  • Smartphone with Safedome app: If lost or stolen, the consumer's smartphone app will automatically lock to protect his or her identity and secure valuable information.
  • Cloud-based Safedome identity vault: The smartphone and card need to be together to wirelessly unlock the vault. It provides a secure location protected by bank-grade authentication for the consumer to store confidential financial information, such as credit card numbers.

"We're proud to work with companies such as Maxwell Forest that are leading the way in creating solutions that help improve people's lives,” said Sid Shaw, worldwide business and marketing manager, Wireless Connectivity Solutions, TI. "We know that being able to help protect the identities of people around the world through innovative and secure services such as Safedome is a fantastic use of the Bluetooth low energy technology."
