BOSTON--()--Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, today announced the hiring of 20-year industry veteran Mark Rogers as its new vice president of Business Development. Rogers joins Mendix after a successful seven-year term at Microsoft, where he held key leadership positions responsible for its ISV and developer ecosystem as well as the Azure cloud platform.

At Mendix, Rogers will be responsible for growing the Mendix platform ecosystem with strategic alliances, channel sales partners and developer communities.

“I am thrilled to be joining a company with a bold vision for model-driven Application Platform as a Service, and the right team, product and ecosystem to execute on it,” Rogers added. “I look forward to working with the many partners already investing in the potential of the Mendix platform and making it easier for many more kinds of partners to use and grow with Mendix as it pioneers the next generation of application development.”

Prior to joining Microsoft in 2006, Rogers served as vice president of Partnerships at IONA Technologies and headed up business development and channel sales efforts at several other fast-growing software companies, including Identify Software (now part of BMC Software), Epicor Software and Open Market.

“Because of its speed and flexibility for building business applications, the Mendix App Platform is quickly becoming the de facto alternative to traditional application development,” said Derek Roos, chief executive officer of Mendix. “We’re confident that Mark’s broad cloud, partnership and developer community experiences will help accelerate our momentum and strong position in the marketplace.”
