LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nativo, which provides native advertising technology and services to leading brands and publishers online, announced today the selection of former DG VP of Engineering Oded Cohen as the company’s first SVP of engineering.
Cohen most recently was VP of engineering for Digital Generation, Inc., commonly referred to as DG (NASDAQ: DGIT) where he managed a staff of 70 across multiple locations including the U.S., India, and Israel. DG is the world’s largest independent cross-platform (online, mobile and TV) advertisement management and distribution platform that connects more than 12,000 global advertisers and 5,000 agencies with their targeted audiences. Cohen had come to DG when the company acquired MediaMind in 2011. Cohen joins Nativo to help further develop the technology behind the leading native ad platform. He will be in charge of all engineering aspects at Nativo.
“Globally speaking, MediaMind may be second only to Google when it comes to delivering ads into digital environments, and Oded has been at the forefront of their growth throughout,” said Justin Choi, Nativo CEO. “We’re impressed with what Oded has done so far and look forward to him joining our team and taking our technology further.”
Before DG, Cohen was a director of R&D at MediaMind Technologies, Inc., where he managed 35 software professionals. Years before the buzz around Israeli tech created by recent acquisitions — Facebook acquired Onavo, IBM purchased Trusteer, and Google bought Waze — MediaMind was an Israeli-started company that went public (NASDAQ:MDMD) and became one of the biggest online ad technology success stories. At MediaMind, Cohen was responsible for the entire backend ad-serving platform, including servers spanning across multiple data centers around the globe. Those ad-serving servers handled billions of transactions a day while receiving tens of millions of data updates daily. Cohen was active in the early days as a coder, then staffed and ran a global team. He helped build MediaMind from a small start-up into the world's second-largest ad-serving company.
“I’m very much looking forward to helping Nativo change the world of online advertising. Nativo is the right size and right match for my experience, and most importantly the right opportunity,” said Cohen. “I am looking forward to continuing to advance the platform and take it to the next level.”
