NEW YORK--()--ACE Group announced today that Joseph Clabby has been named Division President, Global Accounts. In this new role, Mr. Clabby will lead ACE’s division serving large multinational customers around the globe with complex underwriting and servicing needs. The new Global Accounts division encompasses regional teams of global client and claims executives and multinational servicing units, the North American National Accounts segment, and the global services group that manages the award-winning ACE Worldview® information portal for clients and brokers.

Currently Regional President of ACE’s Continental Europe operations, Mr. Clabby will relocate from Paris to New York and report to John Keogh, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, ACE Limited, and John Lupica, Chairman, Insurance – North America.

In addition, John Alfieri (North America), Michael Furgueson (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Suresh Krishnan (Asia Pacific and Latin America) will lead the Global Accounts division for their respective regions, reporting to Mr. Clabby. These executives will have responsibility for delivering ACE’s global capabilities to multinational clients and brokers in their regions, including the company’s broad product portfolio, sophisticated claims and risk management services, advanced technology, regulatory compliance expertise and network of local operations and partners in more than 190 countries. They will also oversee regional client and claims executives and servicing teams that are focused on multinational clients and brokers. Mr. Alfieri will also have responsibility for ACE’s National Accounts segment in North America.

“The new Global Accounts division at ACE represents a further investment and significant commitment to both our large National Accounts customers in North America and our multinational customers around the globe,” said Mr. Keogh. “More and more companies are finding opportunities to do business outside their home countries. As a result, they need an insurance company that can help them with their global risk exposures. ACE is one of the very few insurers capable of coordinating underwriting across multiple lines and geographies and delivering truly global services to both brokers and clients. Global Accounts brings to bear all of ACE’s capabilities – our people, products and network infrastructure – to serve this important and growing market.

“From his experience leading both our Continental Europe business and regional operations in the U.S., Joe has gained important insight on the challenges large corporate and multinational companies face with their global insurance programs. I am confident in Joe’s ability to marshal our resources to serve these customers and continue to build ACE’s position as an industry leader. With a wealth of experience in compliance, coverage, and global program structures, John, Mike and Suresh will serve a critical role in driving our distribution and client strategies at the local level to deepen our offerings in this segment,” Mr. Keogh added.

“Joe is a well-respected executive and we are pleased to welcome him back to the U.S.,” said Mr. Lupica. “He and his team will form the cornerstone of our large account and multinational strategy in North America as we continue to invest in expanded products and services for this segment.”

Mr. Clabby joined ACE’s Financial Solutions business in 2001, after advancing through management positions over the previous 15 years with reinsurance, brokerage and financial firms. He was named Financial Institutions Practice Leader for ACE’s U.S. retail broker-distributed business in 2004 and served as President of Regional Operations for that business from 2005 until he was named to his current role in Europe in 2010.

Mr. Alfieri has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Since 2010, he has served as Division President of the company’s Global Client Executives practice in addition to his responsibilities as Regional Executive Officer for ACE's New York region, a position he has held since joining the company in 2004.

Mr. Furgueson has nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. He has been Division President of ACE’s Multinational Client Group since 2009. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President, International Commercial and Multinational Lines, after leading ACE’s Europe, U.K. and Ireland businesses. Mr. Furgueson joined ACE in 2002 as Executive Vice President, Financial Lines.

Mr. Krishnan has 20 years of experience in the industry. He has served as General Counsel of ACE’s Multinational Client Group since 2010. Previously, he was General Counsel of ACE’s U.S. retail operations and ACE’s Financial Solutions business. He joined ACE in 1999 as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of ACE Capital Re.
