EOS imaging Announces Installation of EOS® system in Klinikum Dortmund, a Leading German Hospital

PARIS--()--EOS imaging (Paris:EOSI)(NYSE Euronext, FR0011191766 – EOSI), the pioneer in 2D/3D orthopedic medical imaging, today announced the installation of its EOS system at Klinikum Dortmund in Germany, also renowned for the excellence of its Spine Center.

The Spine Center opened in 2006 and has since become a leader in spine care in Germany. It is supported by an interdisciplinary group of surgeons from Klinikum Dortmund neurosurgery, orthopedics and trauma departments. Klinikum Dortmund is featured by the famous "Focus" survey as one of the best hospitals in Germany.

In concert with the EOS system installation, Pr. Jean-Charles Le Huec, Chief of the Spine Unit and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Bordeaux University Hospital in France, joined Dr. Jörg Franke, Director of the Spine Center at Klinikum Dortmund, to host a daylong Sagittal Balance course training program. Le Huec and Franke led 25 German spinal surgeons in a seminar about the importance of sagittal balance assessment in the treatment of patients with back pain and reviewed case studies. Sagittal balance analysis relies on large size imaging and the calculation of lower limb, pelvic and spinal parameters that contribute together to the global patient posture.

Dr. Jörg Franke, said, “We are extremely satisfied to have today the ability to incorporate EOS to our spinal care pathway and to strengthen the quality of our diagnosis, therapeutic strategy and surgical control with this exciting new imaging technology. EOS full body 2D/3D images and associated clinical parameters bring a long awaited solution to the patients and surgeons of Klinikum Dortmund and of its Spine Center.”

Marie Meynadier, CEO of EOS imaging, said, “Klinikum Dortmund Spine Center is a key center in Germany with a state of the art approach to spinal surgery and other back pain treatments, as demonstrated by the success of the Sagittal Balance course hosted by the site. This EOS installation is a great step towards the diffusion of the EOS technology in the German market.
