Zubie, Launching This Fall, Hits Major Milestone with Nationwide Debut of Free Phone-Based Location Services App.

Free Zubie App lets users better track family drivers, eliminates need for "where r u?" texts to teen drivers, simplifies and enhances carpool, trip coordination.

Full Zubie solution coming this fall makes driving and owning a car safer, easier and less expensive with location sharing, car diagnostics and preventive maintenance, driver behavior monitoring and driving tools.

CHARLESTON, S.C.--()--Zubie™, a mobile and Internet services company focused on maximizing connected car capabilities for consumers and businesses, today announced the nationwide debut of its free phone-based Zubie App, available in the App Store. The introduction of the Zubie App represents a significant milestone in advance of the full Zubie solution launch slated for this fall.

The Zubie App location-based features help users keep family drivers safer by knowing exactly where they are at all times. Zubie Place Alerts notify the user when family members come and go from places that matter-- like school, home, or work-- or when they travel outside of a set boundary. For parents with teen drivers, the Zubie App eliminates the need to text for location updates. From a social and networking perspective, the Zubie App allows users to invite friends or family members into driving groups to securely share locations, a feature that simplifies and enhances travel coordination for business trips, carpools, or group vacations.

The full Zubie solution, available this fall, is a quick and easy one-step upgrade from the free Zubie App. Zubie makes driving and owning a car safer, easier and less expensive. It uses a smart plug-in device, the Zubie Key, to plug directly into the car's On-board Diagnostics (OBD) port and capture valuable vehicle and driving data for car owners and drivers. Zubie diagnoses engine trouble lights, and even provides information about repairs and repair costs, potentially saving users thousands of dollars in parts and labor costs. The solution provides alerts on driving behavior, such as speeding, hard brakes, etc., and detailed reports to help improve drivers' skills on the road. The driving profile features can help users save money in insurance premiums.

"We're very excited to have the first phase of Zubie out in the market," said Tim Kelly, Zubie chief executive officer. "This gives customers a preview of the benefits the full Zubie solution will offer. We're getting great feedback and are very optimistic about the value this app and the full Zubie solution provide to consumers and their families."
