TOKYO--()--ANA (All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd.) has updated their website of "IS JAPAN COOL?", which aims at contributing to attract international tourists, on July 4th 2013. The new content "DREAMS" presents Japanese high-quality animation, manga as well as video games with a concept of "Dreams"; it also introduced "Japanese Craftsmanship" to the world in a special "Imagination" of Japan.

For the sake of stimulating the demand of traveling in Japan, "IS JAPAN COOL?" plays a role of building an attractive image of Japan as a culture and also as a travel destination. Since February 2012, cities of TOKYO and OKINAWA, cultures of "COSPLAY", "KAWAII", and "TRADITIONS" etc. have been introduced one by one by the website, which was very successful to catch attentions from the world. "IS JAPAN COOL?" follows the "Abenomics" policy of "Promotion of Cool Japan" to send messages from angles of Japanese culture, traditions, animation and characters to the world.

"DREAMS"- presenting the unique culture of Japanese animation, manga, and games to the world
The new season of "IS JAPAN COOL? DREAMS" introduces the marvelous Japanese culture of anime, manga, and video games through the collaboration project of PES (Peace Eco Smile) among ANA, "Toyota Motor Sales & Marketing" and STUDIO4C which is a famous creators group good at high-quality visual design. One part of the opening movie which was produced by STUDIO4C is going to be released on the website as well.

"PES (Peace Eco Smile)" takes the concept of "TOY" with a wish of happiness from "TOYOTA" to spread the "joy of movement." PES will also be released in the largest Japan festival in Europe - Japan Expo which is going to be held in Paris France from July 4th to 7th 2013.

"DREAMS" has also showed museums and inventions from the world of anime, manga, and games. For instance, in the Fujiko-F-Fujio Museum which is located in Kanagawa Prefecture, you can meet the characters from "Doraemon" and experience the process of manga production. At the Mizuki Shigeru Road/Mizuki Shigeru Museum in Tottori Prefecture, you can communicate with the yokai (monsters) from "Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro." Moreover, tour of visiting the real locations that the animation stories based on, and the smart phone application of "Otaku Camera" made by Tokyo Otaku Mode which introduces Japanese anime culture and has attracted over 12 million fans, are all introduced on their Facebook page as well.

"IS JAPAN COOL?" Performances
"IS JAPAN COOL?" was launched in February 2012 when Japan just experienced a serious decrease in demand of tourism from abroad after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. ANA has launched websites and videos on "IS JAPAN COOL?" with categories of "TOKYO", "COSPLAY", "KYOTO", and "KAWAII" to stimulate tourism in Japan. As a result, over 60,000 people from 150 countries participated in the airline ticket campaign; and the videos were viewed over 1.2 million times on YouTube. It is believed that the actions have contributed to the dramatic increase in oversea travel to Japan of 34.6% (estimated 8,368,100 people) in 2012 compared with the previous year. Government officials, such as U.S. Ambassador and national tourism officials also mentioned this on Twitter.

The website of "IS JAPAN COOL?"
In the website of "IS JAPAN COOL?", users can conduct their votes by clicking on either the "COOL" or "NOT SO COOL" button. The result of the top 5 of the best COOL ranking were "Hospitality", "High-tech toilets", "Hot spring water (onsen)", "Mountain Fuji", and "Next generation vending machines", which surprised most Japanese people. Moreover, since the system was easy to understand, and users can also comment and share on Facebook, it made many others think the website is "COOL".
